Meet Our Artists

Hi, I’m Adam. I love football. My favorite color is red and making art makes me feel good. Painting inspires me. I would like to make designs for baseball hats and other sports clothing. In the future, I see myself being nice to people. The thing I love most about Monarch is my friends.

Adam lives with his parents in Winston Salem. Adam loves to sing and dance with the music group at Studio 651. He likes to paint in art and likes to help staff keep the art room clean. 

Allan is a creative artist at Reidsville Arts Center.

Amy attends Charlotte Arts. Amy loves cats and enjoys painting them. She likes to go out in the community to socialize and participate in actives. Amy loves our community’s first responders and greets them every time she sees them in the community.

A native of New York, Angela is an enthusiastic and dedicated participant in the arts program at Studio 651. Her primary interest is in painting, where she exhibits a strong eye for layering and blending colors. Angela lives with her mother in Winston-Salem.

Angie enjoys going out into the community and participating in activities based in the community. She loves to swim and go to the garden. Her favorite types of art to make are jewelry, weavings and paintings when she is at the Charlotte Arts Center.

Arnae loves all types of art and enjoys painting, sewing and making wreaths. Her specialty is making beautiful tiles. She is cautious when applying artwork and works hard so that whatever she is creating is perfect. She loves to help her peers and staff.

Hi, my name is Bailey. I enjoy making bracelets and other jewelry. I also enjoy making yarn dolls and painting on canvases. Making artwork helps me feel calm and happy. My favorite colors are red, pink and purple. I like making things that make other people feel happy. I love my time at MCACC because I can work on things that are special to me.

Hi, my name is Beringer, but my friends call me “Ber”. I enjoy painting with all types of media: markers, paints, glue, pastels, etc. I enjoy using stencils and painting freehand. I like making logos and printmaking. I enjoy listening to music and hanging out with my friends at MCACC. My favorite colors are red, black and orange.

Beth loves a good cup of coffee and spending time with her family. Her preferred forms of art painting and embroidery at Charlotte Arts. She is also participates in yoga and gardening.

Bonnie as she likes to be called, loves going to art and doing Word Find puzzles. She paints simple pictures and will try new things in the studio. Bonnie lives in a group home setting and enjoys coming to Studio 651 every day.

Bonnie loves to socialize and likes to go out and be active, especially at the Y. Bonnie is a cheerleader for all at the Charlotte Arts Center. She likes to help organize art supplies by color.

Hi, my name is Brandon, and I enjoy creating things with clay and other materials. I love working in the pottery room with Mr. Milton. I enjoy my time at MCACC and being able to try new things with art. I like to learn new ways to make my art better. I feel calm and relaxed when I am in the pottery room. I was proud to make individual of the month for my work with others in the pottery room.

Bri loves to make art, especially paintings and arts and crafts. She likes to meet new people and socialize with peers at Charlotte Arts. She loves going on outings and attending special events.

Brien loves art and enjoys going to art class. He loves to paint pictures with words. He gives thought to whatever he wants to paint and that is reflected on his wall of featured work at Studio 651. Brien lives in a group setting and is very independent. He loves his family and speaks of them often.

Camille enjoys making jewelry; however, she also dabbles in painting on occasion. She is very detailed when doing art projects and will pat herself on the back and say, “I did a good job.” Camille is the oldest in a set of identical twins and lives with her mother and sister in Winston-Salem.

Carl loves to explore different art forms and styles while at Charlotte Arts. Carl likes going to class out in the community like dance, fitness, and outings. He loves to help others and spend time with his peers and girlfriend while at art.

Carmen loves art! She is a daily participant in the art room and a prolific painter. She has a keen eye for texture and uses it often in her artwork and she enjoys using happy colors because she is always smiling and pleasant.

Carol loves to read her bible. At Charlotte Arts, she enjoys painting, drawing, and writing letters. She also likes to be active and participate in activities in the community such as yoga, dance and going to the library.

Carrie loves to socialize with peers and meet new people. Carrie enjoys going out into the community for outings. She likes to explore different art techniques at Charlotte Arts and her favorite types of art to make are jewelry and drawings.

Cliftonette lives in Winston-Salem with her parents. She is very into fashion and loves to shop and get her nails done. Cliftonette is very neat and everything is always in its place.

Chance is one of our talented artists at Reidsville Arts Center.

Chris loves to make everyone “cry” with his singing. Chris loves to socialize and help his peers at Charlotte Arts. He enjoys embroidering and has enjoyed going to yoga class and attending whole art center outings.

Danita loves bright colors. She is very detailed when she is painting. Every stroke she does is made with care.

Danita lives with her mother and identical twin sister in Winston-Salem.  

Danny is a ray of sunshine greeting everyone he meets. He loves going out into the community from the library to YMCA to Hobby Lobby. He enjoys reading and drawing or painting different buildings at Charlotte Arts. Danny is learning more about photography.

David attends Reidsville Arts Center.

David loves to paint. David likes to help his peers set up for class or clean up at the end. David enjoys sweeping the Charlotte Arts Center daily and helping load and unload supplies when needed. He proudly wears a name tag that says “Painting Pro.”

David attends Charlotte Arts. David enjoys going swimming at the Harris-YMCA and to the park. He volunteers at Angels and Sparrows and his favorite thing to do and go is the mall and eat out.

Dawn loves to color with pencils and paints and attending art classes and trying new things on canvas. She uses bright, bold colors which show her personality in her artwork. Dawn lives in Winston-Salem with her mother and her brother.

Dom is a pop culture enthusiast whose interests include K-POP Demon Hunter, Disney and videos games. Dom’s preferred art form is painting. He loves to try new foods and learn new recipes to cook. He also enjoys socializing with his friends at Charlotte Arts

Donnie is so excited when he goes to art class. When he paints, he loves to show it off even before it is completed. He loves to hear how good his painting is and if he doesn’t hear it first, he‘ll tell you! Donnie lives in a group home in Winston-Salem.

Drew’s favorite forms of art are painting and photography. He likes the different classes offered at Charlotte Arts each semester. Drew likes to meet new people while out in the community and learn about the places he visits.

Dusty likes to be active and enjoys going for walks and participating in fitness class. Dusty is likes to meet new people and he enjoys the places he gets to visit with Charlotte Arts Center. When inspired, he likes to paint at CLT Arts.

Eric is an experienced painter.  He had taken several painting classes before he started attending Studio 651.  He likes to experiment with paint and is one of our most enthusiastic artists.

Graham likes to be active and go out into the community. He enjoys participating in yoga, gardening, and fitness classes. Graham likes the outings that Charlotte Arts takes together.

Hannah is happy to greet everyone she sees each day. She loves to meet and get to know people. Hannah enjoys painting at Charlotte Arts. She likes to attend outings and special events with the whole art center.

Harold is a car and train connoisseur. Anything you want to know about trains or cars just ask Harold. He is a wealth of knowledge in those areas. He enjoys all activities in art, but he really enjoys painting. He loves music especially songs from the Temptations.

Heidi loves coming to Charlotte Arts every day. She enjoys painting and making jewelry and she likes to participate in dance and yoga classes held in the community. Heidi loves spending time with her peers and boyfriend.

Helen likes to paint or work on latch-hook when she is at Charlotte Arts. Helen enjoys going on outings and attending special events. She enjoys socializing with peers and meeting new people in the community. She also likes going to the garden.

While Charlotte Arts is her home base, Jenny likes to go out in the community. She enjoys swimming at the Y, fitness class at RockBox and helping at McGill Rose Garden. Jenny likes going on the different outings that Charlotte Arts plans.

Jeremy is non-verbal but can get his point across to you by making different sounds and making facial expressions. Jeremy has a beautiful smile that will melt your heart especially the hearts of the ladies. Jeremy has a terrific sense of humor and likes to laugh.

Jessica attends Reidesville Arts Center.

Jessyca lives in Winston-Salem in a group home. She likes to put on nail polish and also enjoys swimming. Jessyca is a careful painter in art and takes pride in her artwork.

Hi, I’m Jody. I love the pottery, the garden and the art at Monarch. I feel happy when I am creating artwork. Music gives me inspiration. My hobbies are painting, shopping and cutting grass. In the future, I want to do yardwork. I love the colors hot pink and purple.

John likes to go swimming at the YMCA. He attends yoga and dance class and goes to McGill Rose Garden. John enjoys socializing with peers at the Charlotte Arts Center.

Johnathan attends Reidsville Arts Center.

Hi, I’m Joshua. My favorite art mediums are acrylic paint, watercolor and upcycling. In the future, I see myself making progress with what I want to be, like art and gaining experiences. Almost anything, but things that are realism that I can recreate into my vision inspire me. My hobbies include drawing, painting, cooking, thrift shopping, walking and eating out. I have a passion for aviation.

Justin is quite a talented artist.  He shows his talent while painting abstracts and has a growing interest in characteristic stick figures.  He originates from Jacksonville, NC, bringing us lots of warm tones and themes.

Justine likes to help others at Charlotte Arts. She enjoys spending time with her friends and making new ones. She loves to paint and also likes to go to the YMCA to swim.

Kaitlyn is a bundle of positivity at the Charlotte Arts Center. Kaitlyn enjoys painting and making jewelry and loves to add bright colors to her art. She also enjoys going out into the community to learn and meet new people.

Karen loves to have a cup of coffee when she first gets to Charlotte Arts each morning. She loves to paint and work on projects and she enjoys dancing and listening to music. Karen enjoys spending time with her friends, too.

Karyn lives in a group home in Winston Salem.  She likes to paint and sew in art.  She comes into the art room with a huge smile every day!

Katie loves to be active and being out in the community. She enjoys going to yoga and dance class as well as swimming at the YMCA. Katie likes saying hi to her friends at Charlotte Arts and enjoys going on outings with the art center.

Hi, I’m Katie. I love bowling, reading and painting. In the future, I want to live on my own and get a job. I am inspired by believing in God, myself and others. I feel relaxed and like I’m being myself when creating art. My favorite art medium is painting. My favorite memory at Monarch is between dancing, singing and being with my friends.

Ke’la is a go-getter. She dabbles a lot with paints, diamond art and puzzles, but her true passion is jewelry making. She has her own business called “Autistic Vision Collection” where she is the owner and designer. She loves to read and her motto is “Don’t Give Up!”

Ken likes to be active in actives like yoga, swimming, dance and fitness class. Ken enjoys going to the library and McGill Rose Garden. He likes to paint and color in his sketchbook at Charlotte Arts and he is also developing his beading skills.

Kenna enjoys the variety of activities at Charlotte Arts, especially painting, gardening and needlework and taking pride in her creative projects.

Kevin likes to be active in the community participating in classes like swimming, yoga, dance, and outings. His favorite forms of art are painting and jewelry making at Charlotte Arts.

Kelvin likes to help in art class.  He enjoys painting and is very careful when placing paint on his canvas.  He gives every brush stroke a lot of thought. Kelvin lives with a family in Kernersville. He likes basketball, going on trips and going out to eat.

Lasha attends Monarch’s Reidsville Arts Center.

Mary Gray loves to paint and she enjoys the verity of outings that the whole art center goes on at Charlotte Arts. She likes to dance and spend time with friends.

Matt is very active, participating in swimming and fitness classes. He enjoys going to the garden to water plants. He also likes to listen to his music and draw his favorite superheroes at Charlotte Arts.

Michael attends Studio 651 in Winston-Salem.

Michael has a growing interest in art and he enjoys making jewelry. He also dabbles some in painting. Michael has a smile that will light up a room and he enjoys coming to Studio 651 and assisting the staff when needed.

Michelle enjoys see peers at Charlotte Arts. She likes to go out into the community whether its for yoga and dance classes or attending outing which explore new places and new types of art. She also likes to go to the garden.

Mr. Nate, as he loves to be called, loves to paint. He enjoys painting animals and gives his little twist to their facial expressions. Mr. Nate has attended the day program for more than 30 years. He is the oldest participant at Studio 651.

Nikki enjoys making mosaics, painting, and crocheting. She likes to meet new people and socialize with her friends. She enjoys outings and special events with Charlotte Arts.

Nikki likes to stay busy whether it's making art, boxing, horseback riding, or learning ASL. Nikki explores new art techniques at the Charlotte Arts Center. Nikki enjoys going out into the community seeing new places, meeting people, and trying new foods.

Nina attends Reidsville Arts Center.

Preston attends Charlotte Arts. He is friendly and caring. He enjoys painting, particularly in garden settings, values his volunteer job, and loves spending time with others. He loves making new friends and enjoys contributing to the well-being of others.

Rebecca loves coming to the Charlotte Arts Center to paint and draw to express herself. She enjoys going to yoga and dance class and she likes learning about new places or trying new styles or types of art.

Renee Green or "Nay Nay" as she likes to be called, enjoys taking part in art class. Renee is a light of sunshine and a breath of fresh air at the Day Program. She has an outgoing personality and she always brings laughter to all she encounters. Renee lives with her parents in Kernersville, NC.

Robbie likes art of all types but especially likes to paint.  Robbie devotes a lot of time helping out in the community.

Roderick was slow to warm to art class in the beginning, but now he loves it! He enjoys painting pictures, and he adds his own little twist to them which makes them unique. Roderick lives with his parents in Winston-Salem.

Rowena attends Reidsville Arts Center.

Ryan likes to be active whether it is going to the community center to work out or exploring new places in the community. Ryan enjoys coming to Charlotte Arts to see his friends and has started painting.

Sal is a proud New Yorker who loves to meet new people. Sal enjoys good food especially Italian and Chinese. Sal enjoys painting at Charlotte Arts. Sal is also open to trying new forms or styles of art.

Sam is a music enthusiast who is very knowledgeable about rock and roll. He likes to read about bands and other interests. His preferred art form is drawing and he likes to see his friends at Charlotte Arts.

Sarah loves to express herself through painting. She likes to stay active by attending dance class and she enjoys seeing her friends at Charlotte Arts.

Sarah lives in a group home in Winston Salem.  She enjoys sewing and painting in art. She also likes to cook and read. Socializing with other participants in the studio is very important to her.

Stephanie likes to meet new people and she enjoys painting, attending her job and spending time with friends and maintaining meaningful relationships, including with her boyfriend. Stephanie likes attending special outings that Charlotte Arts plans.

Tanya loves pop culture and enjoys sharing it with others through videos or art that she draws or paints at CLT Arts. Tanya also enjoys fashion drawing outfits she sees in movies. Tanya sometimes sews her own skirts or makes tote bags.

Taylor is a master at making glass mosaics at Charlotte Arts. Taylor loves to watch videos about hauntings and supernatural. Talyor enjoys playful antics and humorous sound effects.

Tim’s interest in art is growing! He is especially engaged in painting but has recently discovered wreath making, so look for new work to come! Tim lives with his brother in Winston-Salem.

Tommy likes to assist his parents and work in the garden.   He is a patient and careful painter in art class. Tommy is a pleasant personality and enjoys coming to Studio 651. 

Traci loves everything about art. She knows what she wants to do and puts it on canvas. She has a lot of ideas and loves sharing them. She sticks with her project until she gets it just the way she likes it. Traci lives with her parents in Winston-Salem.

Tristan loves to paint at Charlotte Arts. He likes to socialize with peers and share his interests with others. Tristan enjoys being active and attending outings with the art center, and he enjoys traveling and making art inspired by places he has been.

Vador B is a caring and industrious man who enjoys staying busy. He operates his own plant business, “Big G’s Creations.”  He loves expressing his creativity through a variety of mediums and materials at the Charlotte Art Center.

Warren enjoys creating art and he has an eye for detail! He takes his time with each piece and he is proud of his work. Warren is involved in his church and is in the choir. He loves to laugh and volunteers with Senior Services and Second Harvest Food Bank.
